This is a fundraising event event for the local food bank & salvation army and will also bring together friends and family who want to join the hundreds of people that go in Lake Huron for the Polar Bear Dip

When: 2PM, Jan 1st 2026
Where: 1 High Street (The Flag), Southampton, Ontario
What to Bring: Donations for the food bank (cash or food) or salvation army 
What to Wear: Warm loose clothing (housecoat), something to protect your feet from the cold sand / water
Safety: The Southampton Fire Department will be setup in the water for safety and the Saugeen Shores Police will be on site as well

How to Warm Up: The best method to warm up is to move the body naturally (squats, jumping jacks, anything to get the blood flowing).

1st time in the cold water? 
  -We recommend focusing on slowing down and controlling your breathing. 
  -Walking in the water and not running in or diving is also recommended. 
  -Do it with a partner and help each other out in the water (use the buddy system)
