We will be hosting a local and independent live music showcase on Sunday 18th of May at Belgium and Blues. Promoting up-and-coming artists with tickets priced at just £5. 6 pm doors with music till closing (9 pm). After the first edition's success we have great news: we can announce this gig.

There is an optional £1 levy on tickets that will go directly to the MVT and support all the great work that they do. As a thank you for your generosity you shall receive a digital download of my latest 3-track single.

Charlie Smith

My name might be common but my style is alternative. I'm Charlie Smith a raw honest singer-songwriter from Hampshire UK. I host and perform at my own shows at venues such as the Railway Inn The Attic and Crosfield Hall. In October 2023 I embarked on my first solo tour of northern England performing in Leicester Leeds Liverpool and Stockton. My most recent 'DIY Tour 24' was built around showcasing local musicians and took me along the south of England (Brighton Portsmouth London and Southampton). The 3-track single 'God Doesn't Hate You' Recorded on a Zoom R8 is my first release of 2025 marking an adventure back into lo-fi recording. Using nothing but a portable recorder its microphones & effects proved a welcome challenge. What the three tracks lack in polish they make up with creativity. It proves that even with limited studio equipment you can make music.

Fragile Lucy

Get ready for something a bit different. With her funky flamenco style indie geek-rock tunes quirky song lyrics and awesome voice. Fragile Lucy armed with a tiny instrument and a massive personality really is one of the most unique musical acts out there. Her most popular songs “Vegetarian Ham” and “Techno Teddy” are a big hit at festivals and gigs. You may have seen her busking around the South Coast or playing online in recent times. Her latest single “Crazy Bout You” has been featured on BBC Upload and other local radio stations. If you haven’t heard of this ukulele wizard before you’re gonna be blown away. Always a fun-filled energetic performance from a truly talented and inspirational artist.

Nick Haynes

Nick Haynes is a semi-acoustic songsmith who crafts melodies from the hidden fragments of life’s stories. His music weaves together gay love songs laments for lost venues and old friends and celebrations of holidays parties food and new places. Each song connects with a part of you that has been dormant waiting to be awakened by his heartfelt lyrics and soulful tunes.

Jules Hitchens

Jules has been a regular at our open mic at Belgium and blues nights. His style I can only describe as something along the lines of Eminem meets Ed Sheeran. His songs have more words than a novel and are equally fun as they are delightful. He is also partial to a cover of a Taylor Swift song.
