After winning the Mike Renzi Award in Provincetown and getting multiple rave reviews both in Boston and New York City with this well-received cabaret show, singer Lisa Kantor is thrilled to bring SHADOWS to the Cultural Center of Cape Cod.

SHADOWS gives us a peek behind the curtains and an opportunity to celebrate the singers who stood center stage inside the smoky clubs, speakeasies and cabarets of the 1940's. During "The Golden Era of Nightclubs," live music thrived in intimate settings that felt raw and real. Lisa Kantor pays homage to these iconic singers and weaves in and out of this extraordinary era with the songs of Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, the Gershwins, Peggy Lee and more. Through the singers' voices that were integrally woven into the fabric of the times, Lisa invites us inside the club, where the music tells stories, people are transported, and the energy is always electric!

Show starts at 7:30 and is approximately 75 minutes.

Lisa Kantor:

Lisa has been creating and performing solo cabaret shows for the past 20 years. She has performed in Boston, the Berkshires, Provincetown, and most recently in New York City at Don’t Tell Mama, where she debuted her award-winning cabaret “SHADOWS.” Having worked with cabaret artists, musicians, and directors from New York City, Boston, and beyond, she is passionate about the process of mining the truth embedded in each song, both lyrically and musically.
Lisa has recently been in New York, recording her upcoming album.
