- **Event Description**: Join us as renowned pianists Ana Glig and James Rosenblum play concertos together and separately on two pianos set up side by side in the Cultural Center's Great Hall.


Ana Glig:
 
Ana Glig (aka Gligvashvili) is a an award-winning, Georgian-American pianist, recognized for her “virtuosic command of works” and “ability to capture hearts.”

Glig has performed at numerous concert venues in the United States and Europe. As a soloist and chamber musician, Glig has appeared at venues such as New York City’s Steinway Hall, Consulates of Poland, Germany, Ukrainian Institute of America, Bohemian National Hall, Faculty House at Columbia University, Subculture and numerous others. As an orchestra soloist Glig appeared with orchestras in Georgia, Israel and the United States. Her appearances as an orchestra soloist include concerts with Cape Symphony and Cape Cod Chamber orchestras (Massachusetts); performing Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals and J.S. Bach’s D Minor Keyboard Concerto. Glig has been a featured soloist at Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series in Chicago, Illinois. 

Glig’s playing is praised to “project the sense of excitement while retaining cleanliness and accuracy” (Fanfare Magazine). In her album ‘Reminiscences’ Glig’s playing was also recognized for it’s “..sensitivity and ability to finely capture some of Georgia’s haunting, elusive film melodies ..as well as anyone on disc.“ (Fanfare Magazine). Other performance reviews praised her “lovely expressiveness, clarity in legato, balance and perfect logic” (Chatham Music Club, MA). Ana Glig is a founder of multi-media concerts MusArt Interconnections, with focus on synthesis of classical music and visual art. Glig’s professional engagements include masterclasses in the Republic of Georgia, Cape Cod (Massachusetts) and University of New Hampshire (Durham, MA). Glig received her Master’s degree in piano performance from Mannes School of Music -The New School (NYC), an Advanced Certificate in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from New York University (NYU Steinhardt), where she also served as a member of Adjunct Piano Faculty. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Tbilisi State Conservatoire (Republic of Georgia) under mentorship of her beloved professor Revaz Tavadze. Her teachers also include prolific pianist-pedagogues such as Eteri Andjaparidze, Marine Gelashvili and Victor Rosenbaum among others. Glig is a dedicated teacher, solo and collaborative musician. Her collaborations include performances with contralto Vira Slywotzky and Cape Symphony’s principal cellist Jacques Lee Wood. Glig is an artist faculty member at Cape Symphony and Music Director at the First United Methodist Church in Chatham.

James Rosenblum:

James Rosenblum began studying piano at age six; his piano teachers include Julian Martin from the Juilliard School, Arkady Aronov from the Manhattan School of Music, Melvin Chen from Yale, Tomer Lev from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Israel at the Tel Hai International Piano Master Classes, Evelyn Crochet, Jean-David Coen, James Giles, Phil Hosford, and childhood teacher Myrna Lyons. He is based on Cape Cod, in Harwich, Massachusetts, where he is Music Director, choir conductor, and organist at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Barnstable, MA, and Music Director of the Cobb's Hill Concert Series.

James has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Yale University and a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School.  Prior to 2023, James had a dual career as an attorney in New York and Massachusetts, and was a participant or finalist in several amateur competitions, including the 2022 Cliburn Amateur Competition in Texas, the 2016 Chicago Amateur Competition, where he was a finalist, and the 2016 WQXR Classical Moonlighters Competition in New York, where he was a finalist. 

James has performed concertos as a soloist with the Cape Symphony, Mansfield Philharmonic, and more. James is looking forward to performing Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with orchestra in the current 2026 season. James has a wide repertoire, including Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Grieg, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Ravel, Joplin, Albeniz, and more. He also collaborates with other musicians, including wife and pianist Ana Glig, and composes and performs his own works.
