Building a Stronger South Tyneside Together
There are today more people of working-age who are economically inactive for reasons of ill-health and disability than ever before.
Employers already have members of their workforce who are living and working with health conditions.
By hiring and retaining individuals from underrepresented groups employers can unlock significant benefits.
Claire Cook, South Tyneside Councilβs Business Employment Support Officer, can offer tailored support to help local employers attract and retain the right staff. Claire will be delivering three free, practical workshops for businesses in South Tyneside, offering practical information and guidance to support local businesses to recruit well, attract and retain staff.
Diversity and inclusion arenβt just ethical considerations, theyβre fundamental to building resilient, future-ready businesses in South Tyneside. In this, the second of three practical workshops, Claire Cook will look at the local recruitment landscape and explore how investing in diversity and inclusion is a sustainable strategy for business resilience, growth, and long-term profitability.
There will be practical insights into designing inclusive job roles; interviewing and onboarding best practices and the range of support available to help your business recruit the right people.
