About Speaker Dr. Wei-Wu He
Dr. Wei-Wu He is a lifelong enthusiast of life sciences with a deep, enduring commitment to longevity science. He currently serves as the Executive Chairman of Human Longevity, Inc. (HLI), a global leader in precision health and longevity medicine since 2013. Since assuming leadership in 2019, Dr. He has guided HLI’s transformation into an AI-focused, data-driven platform that integrates whole genome sequencing, advanced biomarkers, and cutting-edge imaging to deliver personalized, proactive, and preventive care in a clinical setting. Dr. He's passion for extending human healthspan has shaped his entire career. He is the founder and General Partner of Emerging Technology Partners, LLC (ETP), a venture capital firm he established in 2000 to support breakthrough innovations in life sciences. Through ETP, Dr. He has co-founded and invested in nearly 100 biotechnology companies across diagnostics, therapeutics, and health/longevity platforms—all aligned with his vision of harnessing biology and AI to improve and extend lives. Earlier in his career, Dr. He was among the first scientists at Human Genome Sciences, the world’s first industrial-scale gene sequencing company, founded by genomics pioneer Dr. Craig Venter. At HGS, he contributed to pioneering early-stage genomics innovations. He also held research appointments at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Mayo Clinic. Dr. He was also the founder and CEO of OriGene Technologies, Inc., a company dedicated to enabling precision research through genomic tools and reagents supporting scientists and clinicians worldwide, prior to its merger into a public company. He holds over 30 issued patents and has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. He earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Baylor College of Medicine and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
