Paul is also the author of the local bestseller, “Walking Through History: Portland, Maine on Foot” - a book of historical walking tours of Portland that makes connections between today's urban landscape and much of the history that made Portland the city it is today. During its almost 400 years of recorded history, Portland has seen economic boom times as well as war, massacres, economic downturns, riots, urban renewal and destructive fires. Every corner and every street has borne witness to some part of that story. This book, full of photos and illustrations, brings the city's history to life in ways that are as appealing for residents as for visitors.

Paul Ledman also previously authored, “A Maine Town Responds: Cape Elizabeth and South Portland in the Civil War.” Copies of all three books will be available for sale and signing.
