Gua Sha Assisted Massage blends the ancient healing wisdom of Gua Sha with modern massage therapy. You’ll learn how to apply this time-honored technique within a massage session to instantly enhance your effectiveness and reduce strain on your own body.

“Gua” means to scrape, and “Sha” refers to the redness that may arise as circulation increases. Unlike dramatic Google images, Gua Sha used in massage typically produces minimal to no bruising—just powerful, visible results.

Clients have affectionately nicknamed it the “magic eraser” for how quickly it helps reduce adhesions and restrictions. Therapists are amazed at how much easier it becomes to get great results.

What You'll Learn:
-The history and traditional roots of Gua Sha and how it translates into clinical bodywork
-How to hold and use the tool with minimal effort and proper body mechanics
-Massage techniques that pair beautifully with Gua Sha
-Safe, effective ways to integrate it into any massage session
-How to use Gua Sha for self-care—because your well-being matters too


You’ll get time to observe, ask questions, and most importantly—practice. This workshop includes lecture, discussion, demo, and plenty of hands-on experience so you leave feeling confident and ready to use your new tools right away.

What to Bring
-A set of sheets, bolster, massage table with face cradle
-Your favorite massage medium
-Pen or pencil for notes
-Any Gua Sha tools you already own (optional)


You do not need to bring a tool to participate. I will have a wide range of tools available to borrow during class—so you can try different materials, sizes, and shapes. I also offer a buffalo horn Gua Sha tool for just $10 (cash only, first come/first served). Tools are available before class and during breaks, but there is no obligation to buy—come ready to learn either way.
