About the author: Dr. Jarvis A. Marlow-McCowin is a scholar-practitioner, author, and educator based in the Southern Finger Lakes region of New York. He serves as the community development manager with Corning Community Impact and teaches in the Higher Education and Student Affairs graduate program at Binghamton University. His research focuses on rural student success.
