Saccharomyces Beer Café is bringing the festive cheer with a Christmas in July dinner, Belgian style—with a uniquely Aussie twist. Join us for a warm, hearty three-course feast paired with rich, complex Belgian Christmas ales, plus a surprise gift to take home.

🍤 Starter – Aussie-Belge Prawn Cocktail
Poached prawn, avocado mayo, finger lime citrus dressing, pickled veg, and picolo mix
Paired with: Dupont Bon Voeux
This strong, spicy saison was originally brewed as a New Year’s gift for Dupont’s top customers—now it’s a cult favourite. Dry, complex, and full of soft fruit and floral hop notes.
🍗 Main – Truffle-Stuffed Poultry Christmas Roast
Rolled chicken with truffle stuffing, parsley crust, truffle-mushroom sauce, glazed half carrot, and gnocchi
Paired with: Corsendonk Christmas Ale
A dark, malty beauty laced with holiday spice. Think nutmeg, clove, raisin, and a touch of chocolate—all wrapped in a warming 8.5% hug.
🍫 Dessert – Belgian Chocolate Mousse with Red Berries & Meringue
Paired with: St. Bernardus Christmas Ale
Big, boozy, and brimming with festive flavour. Brewed once a year, this abbey-style dark ale is packed with fruit, spice, caramel, and soul-warming depth.
Why Christmas beers?
In Belgium, breweries have long released special winter or Christmas ales—bigger, bolder, and often spiced, brewed to be shared with family and friends during the coldest, darkest nights of the year. They’re meant for feasting, storytelling, and slow sipping by the fire. It’s a tradition rooted in generosity and celebration, and we’re bringing that spirit to the Brisbane winter.
