Grief touches every person in unique ways. When someone with an intellectual or developmental disability (I/DD) experiences loss, including the death of someone they love, they feel that loss just as deeply as anyone else. Too often, however, they are left out of conversations about death and grief, not because they cannot understand, but because others are unsure how to talk about it. This workshop offers families, caregivers, and professionals guidance on supporting emotional expression, helping individuals with I/DD honor the person who has died, and creating space for healing and connection for everyone involved.
