You’re Invited!
To Unite for a Powerful Night of Truth-Telling and Collective Healing.
Community members from Elkhart, St. Joseph, and Kosciusko Counties are coming together for a groundbreaking evening of truth-telling, creative resistance, and community healing at the Speak Our Truth Project: Unsilenced — Open Mic for the Inner Child on Saturday, January 24th, 3–6pm at LangLab in South Bend.
Sponsored by Rio’s Rainbow, this cross-county collaboration lifts up the voices of youth, parents, artists, advocates, survivors, and community members who are leading movements for child safety, justice, and human rights across Indiana. Through spoken word, poetry, music, and storytelling, participants will share lived experiences from inside overwhelmed and under-resourced systems, shining light on the realities our children face — and the systemic changes still urgently needed.
At the heart of this event is a shared intention: to honor our own inner child so we can lead by example for the children watching us. We cannot ask young people to speak their truth if we, as adults, are unwilling to model it. This night reminds us that vulnerability is power — not weakness — and the lie that vulnerability makes us fragile is exactly what has kept so many of us silent. Together, we break that silence.

We welcome spoken word, poetry, storytelling, music, and creative expression of all kinds.
