Do you have a holey sock or favourite sweater that needs darning? You’re in luck. The fine folks at Zero Waste Sooke are rounding up some expertise to extend the life of your sock (and any other items that need darning) by teaching you how to do it!

Bring your holey sock (or another item in need of darning) and we’ll teach you how to darn it so you can wear it another day and keep one more thing out of the landfill.

Lead Darners:  Paula Johanson, Anne Boquist, Gillian Gravenor, Emily Trim.

Equipment needed: item to be darned, yarn compatible with item (width, type), darning/wool needle and/or crochet hook, darning mushroom/incandescent lightbulb/small glass jar.

No experience is needed.
Darning mushroom and/or darning eggs can be purchased for this workshop as an option.
