(AZT VETS Veterans Day Event – Passage 5, Santa Rita Mountains)

Join the Arizona Trail Association’s VETS (Veteran Engagement & Trail Stewardship) Program and Team Rubicon West Branch for a powerful Veterans Day weekend of service, teamwork, and purpose as we build a brand-new section of the Arizona National Scenic Trail within Enzenberg Canyon in the Santa Rita Mountains.

This special project unites military veterans, their families, and community partners to construct new tread, enhance trail sustainability, and honor all who have served—by continuing the mission of stewardship and connection to the land we fought to protect.

? Event Schedule
Saturday, November 8
- Arrival and camp setup (location details to follow)
- Meet & greet with AZT VETS and Team Rubicon members
- Fireside safety briefing and dinner provided

Sunday & Monday, November 9–10
-Breakfast at camp
- Trail design & construction workshop (led by ATA & Forest Service staff)
- New tread construction in Enzenberg Canyon (lunch provided on-site)
- Dinner and evening reflection around the campfire

Tuesday, November 11 (Veterans Day)
- Morning breakfast and closing circle of gratitude
- Optional morning work session (weather permitting)
- Early afternoon departure

Meals: Most meals provided at no cost.
Registration: Pre-registration required. Limited to 22 veteran participants.
Who’s Invited: Designed for military service members, veterans, and their immediate families. While we welcome the interest of the general public, this event is reserved to provide meaningful opportunities for veterans to connect, heal, and honor their service through stewardship.
Trail Work: Expect moderate to strenuous labor, including digging new tread and moving rock and soil. All experience levels are welcome—training and tools will be provided.

This Veterans Day, trade the parade route for the ridgeline. Together, we’ll leave a lasting mark on the land that reflects the strength, resilience, and unity of the veteran community.

⚠️ Health & Safety
The ATA will continue to follow health protocols as recommended by public health officials. Please avoid attending if you are feeling unwell or may have been recently exposed to a contagious illness. Monitor your health and notify Chappy if your condition changes before or after the event.
