# Event Details

- **Event Name**: Rett Smith // Sønderborghus
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 08 Nov, 2025 at 08:00 pm
- **Event Description**: A Weighted Remorse, due out on September 13, 2024, through Imperial / Republic Records, is the fifth self-penned album in Smith’s discography since the pandemic in 2020, following the successful releases of Giving Up on Quitting (2020), What the Walls Cannot See (2021), Americana Drugs (2022), and A Nightly Consequence (2023). This newest body of work by Smith expands on the rock sounds and guitar prowess he?s been cultivating over the years, bringing his Americana blues roots into the realm of psychedelic shoegaze rock. Smith’s signature virtuosic guitar talents, previously exhibited in his work with SAENTS, make a triumphant return, complementing the dynamic restraint of his solo efforts.

Origins: Lubbock, TX & Ruidoso, NM Current: Austin, TX / Nashville, TN Label: Imperial Music / Republic Tour Support: Blood Red Shoes, Jessica Lea Mayfield For Fans Of: The Black Angels, The Black Keys, All Them Witches “…while [Americana Blues] is certainly still his skillset, for his upcoming album, A Weighted Remorse, Smith finds himself trudging through the dunes of shoegaze. The result is heavy as hell, almost bordering on sludge thanks to its subterranean six-string tone and massive drums.” – KUTX / NPR

“…dark and brooding platter that sounds like Nick Cave raised on Texas songwriters.” – Austin Chronicle

“[he] indulges his love for high-octane guitar riffs and, in the spirit of the most iconic Texas songwriters, mines his own hardships for lyrical inspiration” – Billboard
