Beethoven — Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67
Arguably the most famous four notes in all of Western music, Beethoven’s Fifth is a gripping journey from turbulence to triumph. Composed between 1804 and 1808, it premiered in Vienna in 1808 and quickly became one of the most recognized and influential symphonies ever written. Its nickname, the “Fate Symphony,” reflects its dramatic arc — a musical battle against adversity that erupts into blazing victory.

Mozart — Sinfonia Concertante for Violin & Viola
A jewel of Mozart’s middle period, this work blends the brilliance of a concerto with the warmth of chamber music. The intertwining voices of violin and viola create a dialogue full of elegance, tenderness, and playful virtuosity. It's a gorgeous showcase for our extraordinary soloists.

About the soloists:

Michael Avagliano | Violin/Viola
Our beloved Michael Avagliano is not only our Music Director, he's a multifaceted artist whose career spans conducting, violin, viola, and education. His playing has been praised for a tone “both bold and graceful” by The Washington Post, and he has performed with ensembles including the New Jersey Symphony, Singapore Symphony, and Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra.

As a soloist, he has appeared with orchestras across New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and he is also in demand as a conductor — serving as music director for multiple orchestras, including the Somerset Symphony Orchestra. His leadership has been credited with expanding audiences, elevating artistic quality, and redefining what’s possible for community‑centered orchestral music.

Evelyn Estava | Violin
Evelyn Estava is an internationally acclaimed violinist and the first Venezuelan violinist ever to give a solo performance at Carnegie Hall. A graduate of the renowned El Sistema program, she joined the Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar at just 15 years old — a testament to her prodigious talent.

Her career has taken her across North and South America, performing with orchestras such as the Mexico State Symphony and the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra. She has also been a featured artist with the Madison String Quartet, is the Somerset Symphony Orchestra's respected Concertmaster, and is celebrated for her expressive artistry and fearless musical curiosity.
