- **Event Description**: Most of us have books at home sitting on our shelves, in a box or being used as a coaster. Wouldn't it be great if we could take the books we've read and swap them for stories that are new to us? On March 14th join us at the first Garden State Book Swap where people can come together and swap tales of adventure, romance, vampires, superheroes, true crime and all the other plot twists and turns that are hard to put down. 

We will start the day with over 500 donated books already on our  tables before anyone even brings in their own books to swap. The donated books are all types and genres. There will be a mix of new and old, some well-known and some hidden treasures. We'll have everything from hardcovers of authors like Stephen King, Janet Evanovich, Stephanie Meyer and J.K. Rowling to children's picture books, cookbooks, travel books, biographies, self-help, sheet music and so much more. 

HOW IT WORKS-

For every book you bring to swap you can take any 2 books off our tables. You can mix and match paperback or hardcover. You can swap up to 5 of your own books for up to 10 of ours. There are no restrictions on the books you can swap for but the books you bring in must be in good condition. We will PRIMARILY be accepting books published in the 2000's. We MAY also accept older books from notable authors or well-known series (we reserve the right to refuse any books). If we don't think anyone else will want the book you're swapping, we will not accept it. For every book we accept you will be given 2 tickets. Each ticket is then used to go 'shopping' from the hundreds of books on the tables. The books you swap go right on the tables for everyone else and you can pick out your new-to-you books. 

After 2pm all USED books will be available for purchase ($1 for paperbacks and $2 for hardcovers). Prior to 2pm all used books will be available to swap ONLY. We want to make sure we have enough selection for those swapping. After 2pm all remaining USED books will be up for swap or purchase. 

We will also have authors here with their new books for sale. Prices determined by authors. 

FREE admission. 

We will also be collecting new packages of children's socks to donate to local families in need.
