- **Event Description**: Kingsbury May Festival is an annual FREE event that celebrates the arrival of spring in the beautiful village of Kingsbury Episcopi which is located near Martock in Somerset.

It is a fun-filled day of music, dancing, food, and traditional May Day festivities that have been observed for centuries, which typically takes place on the May Day Bank Holiday and is organised by an amazing team of volunteers from the local community.

Entry opens at 11 am, and the fun kicks off officially at noon with The Green Man Procession, the opening speech and Kingsbury Song and a performance by our talented Maypole dancers. But that’s just the beginning! Throughout the day, there will be Live music, performers, arts & craft stalls for all ages, a stunning display of classic cars and the fantastic Dog show by St Giles Animal Welfare (time for your four-legged friends to shine!). There will also be a raffle with some great prizes that you’ll absolutely love, activities for kids & adults, the return of the Cider Bus and of course a selection of food stalls to satisfy every craving!

Entry to the event is FREE by foot and bike (donations at the bike park are appreciated), and there is a £10 per vehicle eco charge if you would like to arrive by car. Keep an eye out as the build up to the festival continues and we start to showcase some of the fantastic performers we have this year on our Social Media and the Kingsbury May Festival website. You'll also find all the details you need regarding road closures, parking and timings as well as all the details about the festival activities. 

This year's theme is 'Year of the Insect' so we'll be celebrating this with our very first dedicated 'Theme zone'.  A family friendly, educational, fun and inspiring area dedicated to all things Insects!
