She Served. She Deserves. 🇺🇸🫡
Join the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs, Women’s Program, Saturday, March 21st at the Cumberland Grill in Somerset, KY for a powerful & uplifting gathering dedicated to Women Veterans in our community!
We are honored to have Somerset Mayor Alan Keck opening the event with welcoming remarks, setting the tone for a morning centered on connection, recognition & support.
Evelyn Astrid Knight will be our keynote speaker; a Lexington photographer for 30+ years Certified Forest Therapy Guide & former Professor.
We are also proud to welcome Millsprings VFW Post 269 & A Soldier’s Heart: Bluegrass & Muddy Waters as speakers, representing women-focused Veteran organizations in our area. They will share their perspectives, lived experiences & available resources; creating space for meaningful conversation, networking & support among fellow Women Veterans.
Following the program, we will head to General Burnside Island State Park for an optional afternoon outdoors. Veterans may choose to hike to Point Isabel, with three trail options available to accommodate different comfort and difficulty levels. This allows everyone to move at their own pace while enjoying the beauty of nature. Point Isabel offers stunning overlooks of Lake Cumberland, making it a peaceful & grounding way to close the day together.
