Experience the magic of the annual Helderberg Hospice Carols by Candlelight on 10 December 2025 at Vergelegen Wine Estate – a true highlight of the season!
Bring your picnic basket, chairs or blanket, a torch, warm clothing and all your family and friends to enjoy supper on the Vergelegen Wine Estate lawn.

1. Event Access:
• Please note that the email confirmation you received when booking your tickets online serves as proof of payment, NOT as access or admission to the event. To gain entry, you will need an event access armband.
• You can collect your event access armband from Helderberg Hospice (21 Old Stellenbosch Road, Helena Heights, Somerset West – next to the vet) between 9am and 4pm from 1st Dec until 5th Dec (Monday-Friday). Please remember to bring your proof of payment with you when collecting your armband.
• Collecting your armband in advance will significantly speed up your entry on the day of the event.
• If you are unable to collect your event access armband prior to the event, you will have to collect it from one of two collection stations, between 4pm and 7pm, on the day of the event, at the event access point.
• Once you have your armbands, they become your responsibility.
• Please take good care of them as they cannot be replaced if lost.
• Please note that while children under 5 years of age are admitted without charge, online registration for a complimentary ticket is required for entry.
• People requiring wheelchair access to the event must contact

2. Courtesy and Consideration:
• To ensure that the evening is enjoyable for everyone, please be respectful of fellow attendees by limiting your picnic area appropriately and help younger children to be mindful of others too.
• No seating in designated emergency pathways.
• Please note that no dogs are allowed at the event.
• Please also note that Vergelegen Wine Estate is smoke-free – no smoking (including e-cigarettes).
• Please be kind enough to remove your litter with you when you leave the great lawn after the event.
3. Event Essentials:
• Pack a picnic basket, blankets, and anything else you need for a cozy and festive evening.
• Vergelegen Wine Estate is a licensed on-consumption premises (WCP042492). Vergelegen Wine Estate does not permit wines, other than those produced by Vergelegen Wine Estate, to be consumed or brought onto the property. Vergelegen Wine Estate will have a range of wines on sale on the evening at the venue.
• Vergelegen Wine Estate will allow Carol’s attendees to bring onto the Estate their own beers, ciders, and other alcoholic beverages. Bottled water and cooldrinks will be on sale at the venue.
• Vergelegen Wine Estate has graciously hosted Helderberg Hospice Carols by Candlelight every year, and in return, we ask that our attendees respect the Estate’s rules and regulations.
• Gates to the event open at 4pm, and the carols start at 7pm.
