# Event Details - **Event Name**: Scottish Weekender - Burns supper & Ceilidh in the valley - **Event Start and End Date**: Fri, 23 Jan, 2026 at 04:00 am - **Event Description**: To my dear Scottish friends and anyone else that was looking at my event ‘The Scottish Weekender’ I’ll start by saying sorry for taking so long to post this. Last year was very tough for me for a few personal reasons and I was feeling like I’d fallen down a tunnel and put my light out. I was just getting on with stuff that I had to do. I set the event up middle of the year. I had made a few positive changes to the event. We got a new paddock with its own creek and I was also able to move the date to the actual weekend of Robert Burns birthday. When I launched it I offered an Early bird ticket. The idea being that lots of folk would jump on and secure their ticket. Sadly after 3 months not one ticket was bought. Then 4 months and no tickets were bought. I kinda knew why. I didn’t have the strength to jump up n down and get excited and spread the word. Get some press, social media etc is all up to me but I just didn’t have it in me. It wasn’t going to sell its self. It’s a belter of a weekend and I thought of everything. It would normally take over my life and I don’t see the whole of January. I knew what I had to do. I made the decision to let Glenworth know. They were very kind and understanding. They have also said they would welcome me back when the times right as they also thought it was a great event and deserves to be a success. For now though I have just ‘parked’ it. It will be back. I need to work on myself now. Thank you for your understanding and I’m sorry that I’ve taken so long to let you all know.
