Join My Snoqualmie Falls Long Exposure Adventure!
Ready to transform rushing water into silky, ethereal streams and take your landscape photography to the next level? Join me for a fun, hands-on workshop focused entirely on the magic of long exposure photography at the iconic Snoqualmie Falls!
What's On the Agenda?
We'll kick off our morning adventure at 9:00 AM sharp at the main upper Snoqualmie Falls lookout. This isn't just a photo session; it's a deep dive into the technical skills that make great long exposures:
Silky Water Secrets: We'll master the camera settings and shutter speeds needed to turn that powerful waterfall into stunningly smooth, blurred white silk.
Composition & Focus: We'll talk about framing, choosing the best focal ranges, and creating powerful compositions that tell a story.
Two Perspectives: We’ll start by capturing the incredible views from both the upper overlooks, then we’ll head down to the lower falls viewpoint for unique, close-up compositions of the falls and the Snoqualmie River gorge.
Bonus Location! If time and light permit, we'll swing over to beautiful Borst Lake to practice capturing tranquil waters and framing up the majestic view of Mt. Si.
Essential Gear Talk (And Why It Matters!)
To achieve that magical blur, a tripod is absolutely required—it’s the backbone of long exposure work!
If you have them, bring your extra gear to maximize the learning experience: a polarizer filter, ND (Neutral Density) filters, and/or GND (Graduated Neutral Density) filters. Don't worry if you don't have these yet! I will send out a full, detailed gear list once you register so you know exactly what to bring.
My Encouraging Approach
My workshops are always low key, friendly, and completely encouraging! Whether you are brand new to long exposures or just want to refine your skills, this is a fantastic way to learn, practice, and hang out with fellow photography enthusiasts. To ensure you get plenty of personalized attention and one-on-one instruction, this workshop is limited to just 6 people.
Keep the Learning Going! (Zoom Follow-Up)
The learning doesn't stop when the sun sets! A few days after our field trip, we'll schedule a follow-up Zoom call. This is a casual, helpful session where we can:
Go over the beautiful photos we captured.
Ask lingering questions about settings or editing.
Get helpful feedback and gentle critiques (only if you want them!).
