FREE Community Service BASIC AND ADVANCED SHOOTING SKILLS TRAINING hosted by the Smithfield Sportsman's Club.
For current license to carry permit holders and those considering getting their permit. Course covers five shooting drills to improve your speed and accuracy, drawing from holster, and flashlights and other EDC items. Following the lecture there will be a course of fire to practice the drills we are studying.
The Course will be hosted by Smithfield Sportsman's Club, 14 Walter Carey Rd, Smithfield, RI 02917.
The class instruction and range activities are led by certified USCCA instructors and supported by NRA certified RSO’s. Due to the nature of the live fire component, and the time it takes to run these drills, this class is limited to TWELVE students. This class will be filled on a first come basis. You may bring your firearm and around 150 rounds of range ammunition for this event, as well as your standard range equipment including eye and ear protection. If you do not have one or more of these items, please reach out to me directly at

While we provide these classes for free and volunteer our time, we do have to purchase range materials and training supplies, so there is a cost to us. We will have copies of the USCCA Concealed Carry Handgun Defense Fundamentals book, with over 200 pages of solid self defense and firearms information. This book was built around years of FBI studies of law enforcement trainings and firearms discharge reports, so it reflects extremely accurate real-world information. These books will be available for purchase for $30 before and after the class. Purchase is totally optional, but we do highly recommend this to anybody who intends to carry a firearm or other object for personal defense. If you find that the class has value to you but do not wish to purchase a book, we will have a donation bucket set up at the back of the classroom that helps fund our community classes. Feel free to donate as much or as little as you wish.
