- **Event Description**: Kids & guardians explore the art of plein air painting, creating artwork inspired by the natural world while surrounded by our gardens.About this EventCelebrate the beauty of summer with a creative afternoon outdoors with Wells Goetzmann at Revive the Roots! "Plein Air Painting" is the French expression for "in the open air," referring to the act of painting outdoors to capture the direct effects of light, color, and shadow on a landscape.Together, we'll begin by reading Nature Is an Artist by Jenifer Lavelle, a beautifully illustrated story that encourages children to notice the colors, textures, patterns, and creativity found all around them. After a short lesson on observing and drawing what we see, families will spread out across the landscape to paint together, taking inspiration from flowers, trees, insects, and the vibrant late-summer scenery. No painting experience is necessary! This workshop is designed for curious kids and grown-ups alike. Come enjoy a relaxing afternoon of creativity, connection, and time in nature. Participants are encouraged to bring a portable chair or blanket if they'd like, but chairs are available. Painting supplies will be provided. All children must be accompanied by an adult.Kids & Families Plein Air Painting Workshop at Revive the Roots Schedule12:00–12:20 PM?
