- **Event Description**: This is an 8 hour Basic NRA Pistol Course taught by a Certified NRA Instructor. After this class you will be able to:
- Identify the principal parts of a pistol and the types of pistol actions.
- Demonstrate how they function.
- State, explain, and apply the NRA rules for safe gun handling.
- Demonstrate how to handle a pistol in a safe manner.

There will be a live fire component of this class to ensure students can safely operate a firearm and accurately hit targets at self defense distances. If you own a handgun and wish to use your own, please bring the firearm, unloaded and locked up, with 150 rounds of ammo in the proper caliber (you should not need all of it). If you do not have a firearm or do not wish to use your own, we can supply a handgun chambered in .22LR and ammunition. If you have eye and ear protection, please bring that as well, but we will have plenty available as well.

This class can meet the needs of MA and CT CCW permits, and the handful of towns in RI that require an education class to qualify.
