What is Membership Matters?
Membership Matters is an engaging, informative class designed to help you better understand the heart, mission, and life of First Baptist Church of Smithfield. Whether you are new to the community, exploring church membership, or a long-time member who wants to learn more, this class is for you. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall, the building to the left of the main sanctuary.
During Membership Matters, you’ll have the opportunity to meet Pastor Kristen, learn what we believe, and explore the history that has shaped our church. We’ll share our mission and vision, how we live out our faith together, and the many ways First Baptist Church seeks to serve both our congregation and the surrounding community.
The class also includes a guided tour of our facilities, helping you become more familiar with the spaces where worship, fellowship, ministry, and outreach take place.
You’ll learn how we support spiritual growth, encourage meaningful relationships, and walk alongside one another in faith. We’ll explain the membership process and how you can take the next step, whether that means joining the church, getting involved, or simply learning more.
Membership Matters is more than a class, it is an invitation to discover where you belong, grow deeper in your relationship with God, and become part of a church family committed to loving God, loving others, and serving our community.
