- **Event Description**: We have chosen to fundraise for Sunflower Children's Hospice. All funds raised here will go directly to this great cause. Our event will be held at Creaton’s Bar Ballaghaderreen on Saturday 7th  March at 7pm and will consist of a Shave, Wax or Dye event along with a monster auction on the night to raise much needed funds to help towards the cost of building a new state of the art dedicated children’s hospice which will be in Castlebar and will the first of its kind of the Western Seaboard. This will be named Sunflower Children’s Hospice.

This very important hospice will benefit so many families that care for children with life limiting illnesses in the West of Ireland that require Pediatric Palliative care and respite services.

One such family who will benefit from this amazing hospice will be The Cox family from Lisacul Co Roscommon whose son Daire aged 11 has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Daire has severe and complex needs that require 24 hours a day 7 days a week constant care. This as you can only imagine can take its toll on a family. They currently avail of the services of LauraLynn hospice in Dublin but the grueling trip to and from Dublin is exhausting for them all with Daire’s complex needs which is why a hospice closer to home would provide respite, hope, comfort, care and most importantly cater for his needs close to home. They recently did an interview with RTE to highlight the need for this hospice. We will post the interview on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

We are appealing to our community and all local business owners to join us in this fundraising effort towards this very worthy cause. All your donations big or small would be greatly appreciated. All details of the above fundraising event will be posted on our social media pages in the coming days.
