It’s hard to believe it’s been over four decades since Mary Coughlan stepped into the studio to record her groundbreaking debut album Tired and Emotional.

That unforgettable release launched her onto The Late Late Show, brought a hit single with Delaney’s Gone Back On The Wine, and cemented her status as Ireland’s undisputed First Lady of Jazz and Blues.

Deeply inspired by the raw emotion of Billie Holiday and the power of Bessie Smith, Mary has spent a lifetime weaving together threads of jazz, folk, rock, and chanson, with echoes of Edith Piaf resonating in her unflinching storytelling.

Now, she continues to bring her singular voice and fearless honesty to the stage—songs shaped by a lifetime of experience, pain, resilience, and humour. It’s a rare chance to witness one of Ireland’s most uncompromising and beloved voices, still blazing brightly after all these years.
