Join us for a Sunday evening film screening & discussion in collaboration with Moviment Graffitti 📽️

This docu-film presents the journey of migrants who cross Africa, in search of a better world, often becoming a cauldron of violence and kidnapping. They become silent prey, victims of slavery and systematic rape, trapped in unspeakable horror. Their suffering is beyond comprehension, buried under a deadly silence dictated by fear and humiliation.

Created by the Observatory on Gender in Crisis, the observatory is committed in this film to breaking this omerta, to denounce, resist and fight the injustice which overwhelms these women, crushed by terror. They give a voice again to those who are consumed by silence on the roads of exile.

After the film screening, we invite you to join us for a discussion exploring what actions we can take to bring about change for people victimised by slavery and systematic rape.

🗣️ Invited guest: Regina Egle Liotta Catrambone

Regina Egle Liotta Catrambone is a passionate humanitarian and migration advocate who co-founded MOAS, leading life-saving rescue missions for migrants at sea. Through her work with MOAS and MAEC, she supports vulnerable communities with food, education, and medical aid. Regina brings compassion and hands-on experience to global crises, championing safe and legal migration routes.

This event is organised in collaboration with Moviment Graffitti: a left-wing Maltese organisation set up in 1994, it is active against the oppression and exploitation of people, the environment and animals; with a vision of freedom and radical democracy.
