Prior to rabbinical school, Rabbi Weill was an advocacy and community relations specialist for Jewish organizations, including the American Jewish Committee and Chicago’s Jewish United Fund. In 2001, Rabbi Weill participated in the United Nations 2001 World Conference Against Racism in Durban, South Africa. Rabbi Weill, a New Jersey native, earned a BA with honors in 1987 from Brandeis University, where he majored in English and American Literature. He graduated from American University Law School in 1993. Rabbi Weill received his rabbinic ordination from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 2007. Prior to joining Ezra-Habonim, Niles Township, Rabbi Weill served as associate rabbi at Temple Beth-El in Northbrook. He hosts the podcast Unveiling Death and is drummer and lyricist for The Night Owls of Chicago. He and his wife Julie are the parents of three adult children.
