- **Event Description**: Join us for a cyanotype workshop at Pine Meadow Ranch with 2026 PMRCAA Resident Artist Li Rothrock.About this EventDate: June 18, 2026Time: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.Location: Pine Meadow Ranch Center for Arts & AgricultureThe first photographically illustrated book is created by botanist and photographer Anna Atkins, who used the then-new cyanotype process to document British algae. In this hands-on workshop, students follow in Atkins’ footsteps by creating a zine of plants from the Sisters region using cyanotypes. Participants use sunlight to expose botanical compositions onto light-sensitive paper, then rinse and dry the prints in the sun to reveal deep Prussian blue images.Once dry, students transform their prints into small handmade zines using the Japanese stab binding method. Both cyanotype printing and stab binding offer accessible, repeatable processes that participants can carry forward into their own creative practices. For ages 16 and older. Those under age 16 may attend accompanied by an adult.About the Instructor: (She/Her) – Phoenix, AZLi Rothrock investigates inheritance across diaspora and the generative capacities of invasive species using photo, video, and sculpture.
