Participants will get to know the intricacies of indigo, madder, and weld—three dye plants requiring individual processes to access their strong colors.Workshop Highlights:Exploring Dye Techniques: Participants will use overdying to unveil the full range of natural dye possibilities. They will also be introduced to Shibori and resist methods for their own experimentation. Experiment & Document: Participants will use their natural dye journals to document different interactions between fiber type, dye type and dye interactions. All materials will be provided.No natural dye experience required.For ages 16 and older. Those under age 16 may attend accompanied by an adult.About the Instructor:Madelaine Corbin is a textile artist who has been working with natural dyes for more than 10 years. Her studies around the world have informed her practice and the classes she teaches in fiber, dyeing, and textile construction methods. Madelaine’s work has been supported by residencies across the United States and around the world.
