Indigenous peoples of the Americas for thousands of years cultivated crops that feed the world today, including staples that you use every day from the grocery store.  Tomatoes, potatoes, cacao, peppers, corn, peanuts, sweet potatoes and numerous other crops were selectively grown by many generations and tribes.  Learn and discuss how native foods have changed taste buds all over the world.

SunRose IronShell is a contemporary Artist and designer with Bachelor’s degrees from the Institute of American Indian Arts (Santa Fe, NM) for Studio Arts & Museum Studies.  SunRose IronShell is Sicangu and Oglala Lakota of the Titowan Band of the Oceti Sakowin, the Seven Council Fires known to the world as the Sioux Nation of Indians. SunRose has been an advocate of Indigenaity and an ambassador for the rematriation of her people as citizens of the earth throughout her life.
