NEUROPLASTIC PRINCIPLES FOR INTERDISCIPLINARY MOVERS

�29/06 → 03/07�10:00 → 17:00

Over five days we will explore the principles of human movement that underpin the Ferus Animi // Terra Nova research methodology, with a focus on neuroscience and neuroplastic learning.
This workshop is designed for interdisciplinary movers interested in expanding their physical intelligence, adaptability and creative potential. The days will combine movement nourishment through daily mobilisation practices for health, athleticism and longevity, alongside solo and group improvisation to develop creativity, imagination and visualisation.
Through collaborative and competitive partner games, we will investigate our movement blind spots and discover new possibilities for communication, perception and adaptation.
The practice will be supported by scientific theory around performance psychology, evolutionary physiology, behavioural neuroscience and functional biomechanics.
Expect a physically challenging and mentally stimulating environment that cultivates curiosity, resilience and growth through functional failure. A rigorous yet supportive space where participants learn from themselves, each other, and the exercises, guided by research and collective instinct.

Founder of Ferus Animi // Terra Nova and designer and course leader of the MA Dance: Performance programme at London Contemporary Dance School (The Place).
Former Associate Director and performer with Punchdrunk, and former performer with Ultima Vez, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, English National Ballet and the National Theatre London.
Tom’s work focuses on performance psychology, athletic development, functional biomechanics, motor learning and neurobiology.
