We are very happy to announce that we will welcome Antonia Cezara Cioază and Jakob Nielsen from Odin Teatret in danscentrumjette. During a three day workshop, they will share their personal training “Imagining with the body mind” which they have developed together with their director, Eugenio Barba, since January 2022. 

In this workshop Antonia Cezara Cioaza and Jakob Nielsen are sharing their personal training called IMAGINING WITH THE BODY-MIND which they have developed together with their director, Eugenio Barba since January 2022. The training is based on the use of imagination in the pre-expressive level of the creative process of the actor. Through guided work in embodied presence and spontaneous exploration, participants learn to access their intuitive responses and channel them into focused, expressive action. The participants will explore composition by practising varied ways of walking and dancing. They can use the exercises in their personal practice order to enhance their stage presence. The exercises are crafted to let participants tap into their own associations, opening pathways to authentic expression on stage.

Antonia Cezara Cioază and Jakob Nielsen (Odin Teatret)

Antonia Cezara Cioază was born in Romania, where she graduated in acting at Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca. She started working as an actress at Odin Teatret in 2022. She is part of the performance “Hamlet’s Clouds,” directed by Eugenio Barba, and collaborates with actor Jakob Nielsen in “The Thrilling Violinists,” a family performance directed by Sergio Bini Bustric and supervised by Eugenio Barba. Beyond her work on stage, Antonia is a member of the editorial board of the theatre journal “The Open Page” and works as assistant to Julia Varley in organising the “Transit Festival,” a theatre festival dedicated to women.

Jakob Nielsen was born in Denmark. He has a master’s degree in literature from Copenhagen University and worked for four years as an actor with the theatre group Ikarus Stage Arts, directed by Carolina Pizarro. Since 2022, he has been an actor at Odin Teatret. He performs in “Hamlet’s Clouds,” directed by Eugenio Barba, and, together with Antonia Cioază, in the family performance “The Thrilling Violinists,” directed by Sergio Bini Bustric.

The price of the full workshop (18h) is of 200 euros with food included.
This workshop has limited spots - so make sure to inscribe by sending a mail to  
infodanscentrumjette@gmail.com.

Two bursaries are available to support participants facing financial constraints, including costs such as visas, travel, or childcare, allowing them to attend the workshop at a reduced rate. If you would like to apply, please send a brief email explaining your situation.
