(A long time without singing you forget the song)
Has all my revelry now stung me blind
Whose now am I if here no longer mine
But of the whims of winds and ghosts and rivers
A hundred mouths in breath in width and bigger
Than life. I lie beside myself both quiet still wet
With shock as two cuts parallel in the same flesh
Prized cub whose limb from limb I cleft
His head screams in my hands
weish presents a new body of work that draws from an ancient text and incorporates the dying songs and language of her heredity. In this SIFA 2025 commission she builds upon and looks beyond her signature sonic palette to discover new approaches to storytelling through music.
