- **Event Description**: A practical workshop on reclaiming Bahasa Melayu as our cultural differentiator in business and at work.About this EventReclaiming Bahasa MelayuA practical workshop on reclaiming Bahasa Melayu as our cultural differentiator in business and at work. Most of us grew up with this language. But somewhere along the way, Malay got boxed into one lane: home, family, mosque. English became the language of work, ambition, everything that counted as serious. So the moment a panel, an interview, or a business conversation calls for Malay, it can feel unfamiliar, not because the language left us, but because we stopped reaching for it in these rooms. This workshop, facilitated by language enthusiast and public speaking coach Muhammad Arif Tan, is a hands-on session to rebuild that ease. You'll practise holding real conversations in Malay, the kind that build trust before a pitch, a panel, or a cross-border deal ever gets signed. Malay is also a working language across Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei, and the confidence to use it comfortably is a genuine edge, not just at home, but across the region.26 August 2026, 7pm, at JustCo, The Centrepoint. We'll allocate time for maghrib prayers midway through, and close the evening with networking opportunities after the workshop. Limited to 30 participants.Tickets are $12.
