Historical landmarks and religious institutions in Pek Kio include Red Swastika Society, Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple, Leong San See and Christ Church.As the “sporting capital of Singapore”, Pek Kio hosted the island’s first horse race in 1843, the first golf course Royal Singapore Golf Course in 1913, the first neighbourhood sports centre Farrer Park Athletic Centre in the 1950s.
