Discover hidden gems, enjoy little treats and give back, all with one cheerful map in hand.About this EventThis Christmas, Kreta Ayer comes alive with festive lights, cheerful moments, and a shared purpose of giving back.Tucked between Chinatown and Outram, Kreta Ayer Road has always been more than a place of business. It is a community built on heart, culture, and connection. Once the bustling centre of Singapore’s early Chinatown, Kreta Ayer (Malay for “water cart”) was named after the bullock carts that delivered water from Ann Siang Hill. Over time, it became a gathering place for artisans, opera performers, and tea houses, where everyday life met tradition and artistry.Today, that same community spirit continues through cafés, craft studios, and social enterprises. This December, we are joining hands as neighbours to raise funds for a local initiative supporting underprivileged children in Singapore through mentorship and education.Through this event, we hope to show how small actions, whether a cup of coffee, a handmade gift, or a visit to a local shop, can collectively make a big difference. It is a celebration of heritage, heart, and hope, and a reminder that giving back can be as simple and joyful as exploring your own neighbourhood.Join the Neighbourhood CrawlGet your Neighbourhood Map Passport and explore over 20 participating shops, cafés, and studios, each offering exclusive discounts, workshops, and festive treats.Collect stamps at each participating partner and earn rewards, gachapon spins, and lucky draw entries.?
