Robotic process automation (RPA) has been found to be useful for tasks that involve structured digital data, follow pre-defined rules and need minimal decision making. But in a not-so-perfect world, some data may be unstructured. Some scenarios are so diverse that there are hundreds or thousands of combinations and decision points. Rules may be difficult to define at times. Will your RPA project then be doomed for failure? Bring in A.I. (artificial intelligence) to complement the conventional RPA features, so that you can handle more than just simple structured data and simple decision making. This talk will shed light on how you can harness the prowess of A.I. to make RPA projects cover greater scope to bring more impact and success.
Mr. Christopher Lim is the Co-Founder of Glee Trees Pte. Ltd. He is the "father" of Gleematic, the company’s flagship product, which is Singapore’s first home-grown Robotic Process Automation (RPA) software with Artificial Intelligence (A.I.). He has been a serial-entrepreneur for almost 15 years with experience managing overseas teams and working with global partners and distributors.
He holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration, Post-graduate Diploma in Statistics & Data Mining, and Bachelor of Science Degree in Computing. He is keenly interested in how robots and A.I. are changing the landscape of work, and enjoying his entrepreneurial journey.

Often people are not clear on how Agile and DevOps fit together and the culture change for developers. They are very complementary, and often adopting Agile is the driver for the introduction of DevOps in an organization. In this talk I will share from my experience as an enterprise Agile & DevOps coach (working in the Singapore financial services sector), DevOps enthusiast, and blogger (Auspicious Agile) how Agile and DevOps are completely complementary, and the culture change that takes place in organizations and development teams.
I think that many practitioners of DevOps wish to better understand how Agile fits into the picture and vice versa (Agile practitioners want to better understand DevOps). Some attendees may not have considered previously how Agile and DevOps work in a complementary way, and this talk may open up new "food for thought". DevOps culture change and principles like Gene Kim’s “Three Ways” - Flow, Feedback, and Continuous Learning, are key to successful use of DevOps. I think the talk will be valuable to a great number of attendees.
John is the founder / creator of Auspicious Agile, based in Singapore. John is the Head of Agile Practice for Orbium, a Swiss Business & Technology Consultancy. John has also founded Agile services practices for Rally Software in Asia and for Point B, a mid-sized US management consultancy. John is a contributor to InfoQ on Agile & DevOps, and an author of the ebook “ A Guide to Distributed Agile Framework”. John has two decades of leadership and process improvement knowledge in technology related projects, and over ten years of experience with Agile methods and coaching. John has led corporate Agile training, executive education, & Agile certification sessions publicly and privately in the US & Asia.
John is a frequent speaker at Agile and industry conferences. He has also taught several university courses in the business and technology space (including Enterprise Agile Scaling at National University of Singapore, and for the Singapore Skills Future government initiative). John has proven success in numerous roles as an Agile leader. He has worked in the telecommunications, entertainment, real estate, information services, financial services and professional services industries with numerous Fortune 500 & Global 1000 companies including Disney, JP Morgan, Allianz, Toyota, and Accenture. John has experience with start-up and entrepreneurial ventures and working with government clients.
John specializes in applying Agile and DevOps at scale in the enterprise. John is also experienced in guiding C-Suite executives on Agile Leadership and Agile organization principles. His largest Agile scaling implementation with Disney had a $1 billion USD budget, with 500+ team members that spanned three continents. John also focuses on using enterprise Agile and DevOps together to deliver the highest value, as quickly as possible.
John has a passion for using Agile, Lean principles, and DevOps to create business value and competitive advantage for companies. However, his greatest excitement is through the coaching and development of team members on their Agile journey, enabling them to initiate and sustain their own improvements and culture change.
John has a Bachelor of Science degree (University of California Irvine), a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree (UCLA), and a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree (Southwestern Law School). 11:45AM - 12:15PMScaling DevOps Holistically - Beyond Dev & Ops - Click Here for More Info Sandeep Joshi, CTO, Executive Agile and DevOps Coach
DevOps in a startup world is different than in an enterprise. At a startup or a small company DevOps is defined by automation and single team success - developers own operations and the company can deliver software continuously. At scale DevOps is an entirely different story. Larger companies can often accomplish more because they have more resources available to build larger systems, but scale introduces additional complexities that can make adopting DevOps a challenge.
When enterprises start their DevOps journey, usually they start with a DevOps pilot (1 or 2 projects). Assuming you've done a pilot and saw a couple of teams grow autonomous and high-performant, you are now looking to go beyond the pilot projects and scale DevOps to other teams. This is where you starts to get a mixed application portfolio (mainframes, COTs applications, legacy apps, modern apps, middleware systems), a hierarchical IT Support/Services (ITSS) Team, and a culture where these teams have budgets, constraints and regulations to adhere to.
In this talk I would share techniques I have used for scaling DevOps in regulated environments such Finance, Insurance, Healthcare where audits mandate practices which conflicts with DevOps principles. We would discuss team composition in a hybrid world (app + infra), role of enablers, role of support teams and concluding it with the tools landscape for collaboration, standardization and effective delivery. At the end of the session, you would have an action plan that you can apply in your environment to scale DevOps to the next level.

"Any fool can write code that a computer can understand. Good programmers write code that humans can understand" - Martin Fowler
In times of product development at scale, with multiple distributed teams, and varied styles of coding and testing, readability and maintainability of code are prime casualties. Moreover how does one measure the value quotient of the product? Behaviour driven development (BDD) is a practice that bridges the gap between business needs and technical implementation by enabling the business users and developers to collaborate in ubiquitous language, with focus on value delivery.
The focus areas of this proposed session are enriching collaboration, transparency, code quality and ways to develop products that deliver value.
Ritesh is an agile consultant and developer, passionate about technology and innovation. He is a keen contributor on agile transformation initiatives and helps development teams with their agile transformation journey, which includes workshops on Scrum, Kanban to DevOps and development practices inclusive of BDD/TDD, pair programming and refactoring.
