Come join us for a fun and enriching 12-week Art & STEM program designed especially for homeschool students! This hands-on, interdisciplinary class nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving through engaging weekly sessions.

This fall, our theme is How Art Tells Stories! Each week, students will explore a folktale from a different culture through art and hands-on STEM challenges, discovering artists, traditions, and creative problem-solving along the way.

Students will be split into two age groups (Ages 4-6 and 7-12) to ensure age-appropriate instruction, activities, and peer interaction.

Each weekly session includes:

🎨 Art Class – The first half of the day is all about creativity! Students will explore a different folktale or legend each week while experimenting with drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, and more. Along the way, they'll learn about artists, cultures, and artistic traditions from around the world as they create projects inspired by each story. (11:00 AM–12:15 PM)

🥪 Lunch Break – A relaxed, in-session lunch (brought from home) gives students time to connect, make friends, and recharge before diving into STEM. (12:15 PM–12:45 PM)

🛠️ STEM Class – The adventure continues as students tackle hands-on STEM challenges connected to the week's story. Whether they're engineering bridges, exploring the science of flight, experimenting with light and shadows, or designing creative solutions, each activity encourages curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving while showing how science and creativity go hand in hand. (12:45 PM–2:00 PM)

⭐️ You can sign up for the full program—which includes Art, STEM, and Lunch—or choose just one class. Each class will include the lunch break.

About the Instructor:
Kirsten is an artist and dedicated mom of two who has been passionate about art and creativity for over 25 years. She holds a BFA in Design from RIT and studied architecture at RPI, where she developed a strong foundation in spatial thinking, structure, and form—skills that deeply inform her artistic practice today. Kirsten has explored a wide range of creative mediums, with a special focus on macrame, design, and hands-on crafts. Her love for teaching and inspiring young minds led her to work with Art-ventures for Kids, where she taught after-school art programs in public schools. Kirsten’s approach to art emphasizes imagination, experimentation, and self-expression, making her classes a fun and enriching experience for children of all ages.
