In conjunction with the Ventura County Fire Department, the Ventura County Sheriff's Office of Emergency Services, the Ventura County Regional Fire Safe Council, the Simi Valley Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Ventura County Animal Services, the Ventura County Human Services Agency and the Red Cross, attendees will meet local firefighters and emergency responders while learning life-saving fire safety tips for your home, family, and neighborhood. From hands-on demonstrations to educational activities for kids, Fire Safety Day is designed to equip every visitor with the tools and knowledge needed to stay safe before, during, and after a fire. Participants in a Wildfire Safety Passport challenge will leave the event better prepared to stay safe when the next wildfire occurs. President Reagan once said, “We’re forever indebted to those who gave their lives so that we might be free.” Honoring that spirit, Wildfire Safety Day is also a tribute to the everyday heroes who work to protect our communities.
