Lili Boulanger’s Psalm 24 opens with bold brass and radiant choral writing, a stirring expression of faith and strength from one of music’s most gifted young voices. Saint-Saëns follows with his Cello Concerto No. 1, a fiery, one-movement masterpiece full of lyrical beauty and dazzling technique displayed by guest cellist, Dorian Latchague. The program culminates in his majestic Organ Symphony, a sweeping, emotionally charged work that pairs lush orchestration with the thunderous grandeur of Silverdale Lutheran Church’s new organ, played by Justin Cormier —leaving the audience truly uplifted.
