Designed for black women, non-binary, gnc, and afab participants to create, connect, and be in community together.Audience: Neurodivergent adults ages 18+ (Autistic, ADHD, LD, IDD, and related disabilities)Expectations:This is a small group, capped at 7 participants to keep things calm, community-focused, and to allow for 1:1 instruction if needed.Workshops typically start with an introduction to the space and NeuroNest, a look at materials and techniques, and an optional icebreaker.There's usually instrumental music playing, with participants welcome to work at their own pace or talk a bit if they'd like.Quiet areas are in the space as well as a few sensory items.All materials are providedIndividualized support from a NeuroNest instructor based on interest, needs, and pacePre-session intake email to learn about preferences and creative interests.Community connections with other Black neurodivergent women and gender-expansive folksAll communication styles are welcome (AAC, writing, sign, gesture, etc.) Sensory tools such as headphones, fidgets, earplugs, and weighted items are welcome.What we'll be working on:There will be 2 creative projects available for facilitation, including:Small acrylic paintings on canvas board with a demoWatercolor cardsAccess to additional materials (collage materials, zine templates, paint markers).Pricing (May–July): Fees support materials, facilitation, venue, and reflect program sustainability.
