It asks us to notice the effects of our actions and to make compassion more dependable in everyday life.Our previous retreat explored Patience: The Spacious Courage to Stay Present. Patience gives us room between an experience and our response. Ethical conduct helps us consider what we will do with that room.During this retreat, we will explore:- The relationship between patience and wise action.- The five precepts as practical commitments for daily life.- Three dimensions of ethical conduct: refraining from harm, cultivating wholesome qualities, and benefiting others.- Speaking honestly and listening with care.- Setting compassionate boundaries and using our influence responsibly.- Acknowledging mistakes, making repairs, and beginning again.- Bringing the bodhisattva aspiration into ordinary choices.The retreat will include meditation, a Dharma talk, periods of silence, and opportunities for personal reflection. The teachings will be practical and accessible, offering ways to bring greater awareness and care into relationships, responsibilities, and everyday challenges.This gathering continues our exploration of the Six Paramitas. Diligence encourages us to keep tending the seed. Patience allows it time to grow. Ethical conduct cares for the conditions in which wisdom and compassion can flourish.Whether you are new to meditation or have practiced for many years, you are warmly welcome.
