Emotionally Responsive Child Care

All are welcome (including parents, caregivers, educators, or anyone with kids in your life!) to join us for a visionary evening of early childhood education practices in emotionally responsive child care. Learn, consider, discuss, and be supported by your peers on how we can best care for the hearts and minds of the children in our care, each other, and ourselves.

Key principles include:
-All behavior has meaning
-All learning happens in relationships
-What happens early in life lasts a lifetime
-Love is greater than fear

Coming from St. Louis, Missouri, presenter Steve Zwolak is Executive Director Emeritus of University City Children's Center and LUME Institute. With 56 years of experience as a student of children, Steve has built an approach to education which focuses on Emotionally Responsive Teaching. The approach emphasizes that the emotional development of children is critical to a child's future success. Steve has been recognized locally, regionally and nationally for his work with children, families and educators. He is a storyteller and loves to PLAY!
