To kraftfulde bands fylder Kedelhuset med hårdtslående musik i september:
CROCELL

VANIR
Vanir stands as one of Denmark’s most prominent and enduring Melodic Death Metal bands. For more than a decade, the band has forged a unique identity within the Nordic metal scene, blending crushing riffwork, sweeping melodies, and epic storytelling rooted in history, myth, and the conflicts that have shaped humanity.
Since their formation, Vanir have released several critically acclaimed albums, each expanding their sonic universe and sharpening their characteristic fusion of brutality and grandeur. Drawing inspiration from Norse mythology, European warfare, and the forces that forge civilizations, the band’s music combines atmospheric depth with melodic intensity, creating a signature sound that is both evocative and relentless.
WYRD – An Album of Fate
In 2026, Vanir unveil their next full-length album, WYRD — a record centered on the timeless theme of fate. Shaped by war, by the choices of mankind, and by the consequences echoing through generations, WYRD reflects the uncertainty of our own age while exploring the decisions that define both past and future.
The album’s visual identity is crafted by artist David Troest, whose striking cover depicts a Winged Hussar — one of history’s most formidable cavalry forces. The artwork references the Battle of Vienna in 1683, where the Polish army halted the Ottoman expansion into Europe. This decisive moment serves as the foundation for the single Never Surrender, told from the perspective of those who defended the city against overwhelming odds.
Other tracks broaden the album’s exploration of human struggle. Boudica pays homage to the warrior queen who led her people in revolt against Rome — a timeless symbol of defiance, power, and the fight for freedom. Helgrindir, performed in the band’s native Danish, descends into the gates of Hel’s underworld and reflects on humanity’s eternal battle against disease — a war no sword or army can ever win. Whether plague, cholera, or unseen affliction, the song speaks to the equalizing force that has shaped history as surely as any battlefield.
WYRD is mixed and mastered by Demigod Recordings, delivering a massive, razor-sharp sound that elevates the album’s epic scale and emotional depth.
A Distinctive Musical Identity
Vanir’s music intertwines melodic death metal with atmospheric blackened elements, folk undertones, and sweeping orchestral textures. Their sound strikes a balance between aggression and melody, making it resonate with fans of melodeath, viking metal, and the darker edges of Scandinavian metal.
Renowned for powerful and immersive live performances, Vanir bring their historical narratives to life on stage with intensity, precision, and a commanding presence. Over the years, the band has shared stages with international acts and appeared at numerous festivals across Northern Europe.
