Ecos de España: Spanish Classical & Flamenco Music & Dance

Experience the beauty and sophistication of music and dance from Spain and Gypsy Spain (flamenco). Susana Elena performs a variety of dances ranging from a theatrical Spanish Paso Doble (dance of the bullfight and performed with a cape) to the oldest and most purely flamenco rhythm, Siguiriya. Solo guitarist Pietro Ruscigno plays a selection of the timeless compositions created for the Spanish guitar. The audience learns how to move their arms and hands like flamenco dancers, as well as how to clap "palmas" to flamenco rhythm. After the performance Susana offers an introductory workshop on how to play the Spanish castanets. This event is for all ages.
