On the 19th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd of March, Heritage Malta invites you for an early start – a very early start, but one that will surely be worth your while!
At the dawn of spring, as the days grow longer, a unique phenomenon occurs at the ancient site of Mnajdra.
The first rays of the rising sun illuminate the central passage of the South building, just as they have for over 5,000 years. This millennia-old spectacle reflects the skilful engineering of its builders, who aligned the site to mark key seasonal transitions which were essential for agrarian communities of the time.
Witness this mesmerizing event for yourself and experience the early morning light at the site. Enhance the experience with a guided tour of the site, complete with idyllic views of the islet of Filfla, followed by complimentary coffee and snacks.
Tickets cost €35 per person, with a special rate of €25 for Heritage Malta members. Secure your spot now by purchasing tickets at any Heritage Malta site or museum, or from Heritage Malta’s online store.
The adventure begins at 5:30am outside the Ħaġar Qim and Mnajdra Archaeological Park Visitor Centre. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and get ready for an unforgettable experience!
