Join Cochise College for a multimedia craft talk with Logan Phillips, a Tucson-based poet, performer, educator, and DJ whose work lives at the intersection of poetry, visual art, and social practice.
In this session, Phillips will walk through the creation of Reckon, a hybrid memoir that blends poetry, essay, photography, archival materials, and typography. He will discuss working across multiple literary and visual forms and what it means to build a book using design software (Adobe InDesign) rather than a traditional word processor.
Born and raised in Cochise County, Phillips returns to the area to reflect on place, memory, and storytelling rooted in the Southwest.
Phillips is the author of Reckon (University of Arizona Press) and Sonoran Strange, and previously co-directed Spoken Futures, Inc., a youth-centered arts and social justice organization. His workshops are engaging, grounded, and accessible to writers and non-writers alike.
This event is open to students, employees, and community members.
